Numbers to plan with
Two calculators, a reminder and a checklist, each built around what a lender actually looks at.
Mortgage payment calculator
A payment by amount, rate, amortization and frequency, with Canadian semi-annual compounding built in.
Estimate a payment →Affordability calculator
What you could borrow, using the stress test and the two ratios lenders apply to every application.
Estimate what you could borrow →Renewal reminder
Give us your maturity date and we flag it twelve months out, as we do for every residential client.
Set a reminder →Document checklist
What every residential application needs, and what self-employed, construction and commercial borrowers add.
See the checklist →How to read an estimate
Every calculator here uses the maths a lender uses. Canadian fixed rates compound twice a year, the stress test qualifies you at a higher rate than you pay, and default insurance is added when the down payment is on the smaller side.
What a calculator cannot know is the lender's view of your income, your credit and the property. The rate in each tool is an example, not an offer, and a payment on screen is a planning figure. The real numbers come from a lender's written approval.
If a result surprises you, in either direction, that is a good reason for a call. We will tell you what is realistic before any paperwork.
